Past Services

Adulam Foundation was founded in 2014, beginning with a pilot program in Colombia supporting at-risk displaced youth to have an opportunity to attend post secondary institutions. Since then, Adulam has been offering programming in the GTA and surrounding areas to foster resilience and build community capacity. At the beginning of the pandemic, Adulam Foundation created a tailor made program for pandemic-related stressors- The Mobile Resiliency Crew. This program is a mobile service that engages service recipients (Children, Youth, Seniors, Families) in a dialogue that promotes wellness. The brief intervention model is 4 to 5 individual sessions in the community where service recipients are engaged in activities that include therapeutic benefits, such as nature exposure, a walk, a jog, a game of cards, puzzles, gardening, etc. while creating a safe space to discuss emotional well-being and build coping tools.

Adulam Foundation is regularly creating new programs to better serve the community. Some of these programs have been realized thanks to funding, or are only active during specific seasons. Check out some of our past programming below!

Wellness Checks

As a branch of our Mobile program, we offer services for scheduled wellness checks to check on the safety or well-being of vulnerable persons or family members. Our goal is to connect vulnerable persons to the appropriate services as a follow-up to our wellness checks. Our team and volunteers are able to provide insight and assess safety, as they are trained in suicide risk assessment and suicide interventions. Please note wellness checks are scheduled and not for emergencies. Contact your local police department or 911 if there is imminent risk. Catchment area: Greater Toronto Area (Halton, Peel, York, Durham), Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Niagara Region, Muskoka Region, Ottawa and surrounding areas.

Garden to Bloom

Our Garden To Bloom Service focuses on creating and nurturing a favourable environment for the development of individuals, families, and communities through the therapeutic art of horticulture. The service include a gardening session which engages service recipients in gardening activities through cultivating, planting, and managing a garden to bloom fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants. This session is a great opportunity for families to learn about a new activity to do together and bridge the connection between how we care for our plants and how we care for ourselves while promoting food sustainability.
